Jesse Crick

Jesse Crick started making art as a child in the Republic of Georgia. He recalls that the first images that he was painting were of houses. When he first moved to the United States, he drew Queen Amidala, a character from Star Wars. He now likes to create his own characters. He says that his life changed when he realized his creative gift. He notes that the art that he creates comes from the visions he sees when he sits down to begin drawing or painting. He came to Hart Gallery through the AIM Center, and has chosen to designate 10% of his sales back to their art program. In his words, “I became obedient to the brush, that is, my brush takes me and guides me around the world. I do my best when I follow my brush as it speaks to me. I do what I need to do to finish the painting.”
